Keywords in Bash

When you set variables in Bash, you should avoid using any name from the keywords. You can easily get the list of keywords by running the following command:

compgen -k

And we get:

if
then
else
elif
fi
case
esac
for
select
while
until
do
done
in
function
time
{
}
!
[[
]]
coproc

If we want to get the list of the built-in commands, we can run:

enable

and we get:

enable .
enable :
enable [
enable alias
enable bg
enable bind
enable break
enable builtin
enable caller
enable cd
enable command
enable compgen
enable complete
enable compopt
enable continue
