How to get the index in for loops in Python

Assume that you have a list and apart from the list element, you want to get the position of the element, i.e. the index. For this case, the enumerate function will do the trick. For example:

mylist = [10,30,100]

for index, element in enumerate(mylist):
    print(index, element)

And we get:

0 10
1 30
2 100
